The Kalahari is often described as a vast empty space, but that's not really accurate. Yes, it is quiet, wild and mostly uninhabited, but it also offers spectacular natural scenery. In parts, you will find red sandy dunes, but closer to Tinashe, the semi-desert area makes room for lush grasslands and more densely populated camel thorn trees. Now and then, the blue skies will make way for storm clouds that deliver spectacular lightning shows on the horizon by late afternoon, often to clear up soon after. When it doesn't rain, we are treated to beautiful starry skies at night. Abundant bird and wildlife species make their home in the Kalahari, which is the perfect place for walk and stalk or driven lion hunting, plains game hunting and dangerous game hunting safaris in South Africa.
